True testimony on human rights from a man who survived La Joya prison in Panamá.
Updated: Oct 17, 2019

Carlos is a loving husband and a father to his 12 year old son. Originally from Columbia he arrived in Panama aged 4 and has lived in Panama ever since, Carlos is also a strong believer in the Christian faith that carried him through his nightmare.
What caused his imprisonment was the tragic course of events. When Carlos went to have his car serviced he was told he required parts, the garage said he could use one of the mechanics vehicles, which he did. In pursuit of his parts, he was stopped at a pop up police check point; the car was inspected and found to have 50kg marijuana stuffed behind a glove box. He was sentenced to 6 years of jail, now released he cannot return to Panama to be with his wife & child. Carlos has no connections, or history in Columbia where he is to this day.

Grande was extremely instrumental in helping me video the abuses, his job was making sure the watch was charged every night, the below video was where I first told him what I was doing. The other advantage in using Grande was because he was built like a house, and my body guard whilst in La Joya.
