Watch as prisoner is given access to ladder so he can fix the light used in illegal gambling room.

For obvious reasons, prisoners are generally not permitted the use of fence-high ladders. In La Joya however, when the light for the secret gambling room went out, all this prisoner had to do was ask one of the guards for a ladder and install an illegally purchased light-bulb (sold for $10 each). The reason this was allowed is because the authorities enjoyed gambling as much as the prisoners themselves.
